Note: if necessary, to remove high-voltage wires, see chapter "Ignition system".
1. Disconnect the high voltage wires from the spark plugs, holding them only by the rubber tips. Improper handling of wires can cause internal wire breaks.
2. Inspect the tips for electrical breakdown, cracks, conductive tracks. Replace high voltage wires if necessary.
3. Using an ohmmeter, check the resistance of each high voltage wire.
- Maximum resistance 25 kΩ per wire
Note: for the 3S-GE, 7A-FE engine, the resistance of the wires is checked together with the distributor cap or the complex ignition unit. If the resistance is greater than the specified value, check the wire lugs or replace the wires and (or) distributor cap (integrated ignition unit).
