Lower Ball Joint — Installation [Toyota Carina T190]

1. Install the ball joint.

a) Install the ball joint and tighten the nut.
  • Tightening torque - 105 Nm

b) Install a new cotter pin.

Note: when installing the cotter pin, the nut can be turned at an angle of no more than 60°.


2. Using the special tool and a hammer, install the new boot.

Note: Align the holes for the speed sensor (ABS) in the dust cover and steering knuckle.




For models without ABS

Note: Install the boot as shown in the figure.




3. Install the steering knuckle assembly with the hub (see the relevant section).
