Raise the front of the car with a jack and place a wooden beam 18-20 cm high under the front wheel. The jack can only be supported in certain points on the body.
Lower the vehicle so that the front suspension is about half loaded.
Secure the vehicle in this position with wedges. The wheels must be straight.
Move the control arm up and down by hand. The play in the hinge should not be felt.
Removing
Place the car on a lift.
Loosen the ball joint axle nut and press it down using a puller, eg HAZET 779, see fig. G-3631.
Loosen the ball joint bolts on the control arm and remove the ball joint.
Installation
Fasten the new bearing to the control arm with a force of 130 Nm.
Insert the support shaft into the steering knuckle and tighten it with a new self-locking nut to 130 Nm. In the version with slotted nut, insert a new cotter pin and separate its ends. If the cotter pin does not fit, tighten the nut.
Measure the geometric parameters of the front wheels and adjust the suspension.
