Checking the starter stator [Toyota Carina T190]

1. Using an ohmmeter, check for continuity between the wire terminal and the brush wire as shown in the figure. Otherwise, replace the starter housing assembly with the stator winding.

Except for the 2.2 kW starter

Starter 2.2 kW

2. Make sure there is no conductivity between the stator winding and the housing. Otherwise, replace the starter housing together with the stator winding.
