Removal
Disconnect the ground (-) cable from the battery.
Warning: This will erase the entries in the trip computer memory. In particular, the fault entry and the radio receiver code. Before disconnecting the battery, read the section "Removal and installation the battery".
Loosen the V-belt and remove it.
Petrol engine:
Diesel engine:
Remove the protective cap, disconnect the thick wire (B+) and unplug the plug connection. On a diesel engine, disconnect the thin wire instead of the plug.
Loosen the generator mounting bolts and remove the generator.
Installation
Install and secure the generator without tightening the bolts.
Insert the tension screw.
Check the V-belt for wear. Replace if necessary.
Put on the V-belt and tighten it.
Connect the wires to the generator.
Connect the ground (-) cable to the battery.
Set the time on the clock, if you have one, and enter the code into the radio receiver.
