Possible leak locations include:

• The junction of the cylinder block and gearbox.
• The junction of the halves of the gearbox housing.
• Oil filler and drain plugs.
• Contact planes of drive shafts with gearbox.

When searching for a leak, you must do the following:

• Clean the gearbox housing with cleaner.
• Check the oil level. Top up if necessary.
• Sprinkle possible leak areas with lime or talc.
• Make a test drive. In order for the oil to become sufficiently fluid, it is necessary to drive on the highway for a distance of about 30 km.
• After a test drive, place the car on a lift and inspect the gearbox with a lamp.
