TOYOTA COROLLA cars use cables instead of conventional shift bars. Their advantage is that they do not transmit vibration to the gear lever and passenger compartment. In addition, they are not affected by the different movement of the aggregates. The cables are practically maintenance-free.
The gear lever has two degrees of freedom: transverse (in transmission) and longitudinal. Each movement of the lever is transmitted to the gearbox through its cable.
