Note: it is not allowed to peel off the rubber from the cord on the inner (from the side of the ridges) and outer surfaces of the belt, exposed or damaged cord, peeling of the ridge from the rubber base, the presence of cracks, delamination or wear on the sides of the belt and on the sides of the ridges of the belt. Replace belt if necessary.
2. Check and adjust the tension of the accessory drive belts.
- A) Apply a force of 98 N (10 kg) at the indicated points and measure the deflection of the belts.
- b) Check that the belt tensioner moves down when pressing the belt at the point shown in the figure with a force of 98 N (10 kg).

Check that the belt does not slip off the tensioner pulley. Replace tensioner if necessary.
Note:
- Term "used belt'' refers to a belt that has been used for more than 5 minutes.
- After installing the belt, check that it is properly seated on the pulleys. Check by hand at the bottom of the pulleys for a free groove in the pulley.
- After installing the belt, start the engine and let it run for 5 minutes, and then check the belt tension again.
2. Alternator drive belt tension adjustment (if necessary).
- A) Loosen the mounting bolts "A" And "IN", shown in the figure.
- b) Adjusting bolt "WITH" adjust belt tension.
- V) After completing the adjustment, tighten the mounting bolts "A" And "IN".

- bolt "IN" - 19 Nm
S-series
- bolt "A" - 19 Nm

3. Adjusting the tension of the power steering pump drive belt (if necessary).
- A) Loosen the mounting bolts "A" And "IN", shown in the figure.
- b) Adjust drive belt tension and tighten mounting bolts "IN" And "A".

- bolt "IN" - 40 Nm

4. Adjusting the tension of the air conditioning compressor drive belt (if necessary).
- A) Loosen the A/C compressor pulley nut "A".
- b) Adjust the tension of the drive belt with a bolt "IN".
