Warm up the engine.

Connect the Hand-Held Diagnostic Tool II to the DLC3 connector (fig. 2.319).
Turn the ignition ON (START).
Select the instrument mode: Powertrain/ Engine and ECT/ Data List/ Engine SPD.
Idle speed: 750–850 min⁻¹.
Note: Check the idle speed with the cooling fan turned off.
Note: Before connecting the instrument probe to the terminal, turn off all additional equipment and the air conditioner.

Using SST, connect the tachometer to terminal 9 (TAC) of the DLC3 connector (fig. 2.320).
Turn the ignition ON (START).
Check the idle speed.
Idle speed: 750–850 min⁻¹.
Note: Check the idle speed with the cooling fan turned off.
