Remove 4 spark plugs.
Disconnect 4 injector connectors.
Check compression in each cylinder.
Pic. 2.321. Adapter installation
Install SST (adapter) into the spark plug hole (pic. 2.321).
Tightening torque: 12 Nm.
Pic. 2.322. Compressometer connection
Attach SST (compressometer) to SST (adapter) (pic. 2.322).
Fully open the throttle, then start the engine.
Turning the engine crankshaft with a starter, measure the compression.
Compression: 2628 kPa.
Minimum allowable compression: 2157 kPa or more.
Compression difference between cylinders: 490 kPa or less.
Note. For the starter to rotate the engine crankshaft at a frequency of 250 min–1 or more, a fully charged battery should be used.
Note. In the same way, check the compression in the remaining cylinders.
Note. Measurements should be taken as soon as possible before the engine is cold.
If the compression in the cylinder is too low, pour a small amount of engine oil into the cylinder through the spark plug hole, then measure the compression again.
Note. If compression increases after filling with oil, the piston rings and/or cylinder head are probably worn or damaged.
Note. If the pressure does not increase, the valve may be sticking or leaking, or the head gasket may be blown.
Attach 4 injector connectors.
Install 4 spark plugs.
