Connect the Hand-Held Diagnostic Tool II to the DLC3 diagnostic connector.
Start the engine.
Press the accelerator pedal all the way down.
Select the instrument mode: Powertrain/ Engine and ECT/ Data List/ Engine SPD.
Maximum speed: 5100–5250 min⁻¹.

Using SST, connect the tachometer to pin 9 (TAC) of the DLC3 connector.
Start the engine.
Press the accelerator pedal all the way down.
Check the maximum frequency.
Maximum speed: 5100–5250 min⁻¹.
