Checking and adjusting the brake pedal
1. Remove the floor mat.
2. Make sure the pedal height is adjusted as shown.
Pedal height from floor covering:
- with manual transmission - 140-150 mm
- with automatic transmission - 143-153 mm
3. Adjust the pedal height if necessary.
A) Disconnect the brake light switch connector.
1 - locknut of the switching lock sensor,
2 - stop bolt,
3 - stoplight switch locknut,
4 - stem locknut,
5 - stock.
b) Loosen the brake light switch locknut and remove the brake light switch.
V) Loosen stem locknut.
G) Adjust the pedal height by turning the pedal shaft.
d) Tighten the stem locknut.
- Tightening torque - 11 - 17 Nm
e) Install the brake light switch and rotate it until the clearance to the pedal becomes nominal cash.
- Nominal clearance - about 1 mm
and) Tighten the brake light switch locknut.
- Tightening torque - 12-27 Nm
h) Connect the brake light switch connector.
And) Make sure the brake lights come on when the brake pedal is depressed and go out when the brake pedal is released.
To) After adjusting the pedal height, check the pedal free play.
Note: If the distance between the brake light switch and the brake pedal limiter has been adjusted correctly, the pedal free play will be within the nominal value.
4. Check pedal free play.
A) Stop the engine and press the pedal several times to eliminate the vacuum in the vacuum booster.
Brake pedal.
1 - fork axle,
2 - pedal axis,
3 - brake pedal assembly with lining,

6 - stop of the brake light switch.
Note: When assembling, apply grease to the surfaces indicated by the arrows.
b) Press down on the pedal until you feel resistance.
- Pedal free play - 0.5 - 3.0 mm
If the pedal free play is not as specified, check the distance between the brake light switch and the brake pedal travel limiter. If this distance is within specifications, check the brake system for faults.
5. Check pedal reserve.
Release the parking brake lever. With the engine running, depress the pedal and measure the pedal travel.
- Brake pedal travel margin from floor covering at a pressing force of 300 N - not less than 74 mm
If the brake pedal travel is not as specified, locate the brake system failure.
