2. Make sure the pedal height is adjusted as shown.
- Pedal height from floor covering - 159-169 mm
2. Adjust the pedal height if necessary.
A) Disconnect the brake light switch connector.
b) Loosen the brake light switch locknut and remove the brake light switch.
V) Loosen stem locknut.
G) Adjust the pedal height by turning the pedal shaft.
d) Tighten the stem locknut.
- Tightening torque - 26 Nm
Brake pedal adjustment
1 - stop signal switch,
2 - stem locknut,
3 - stock,
4 - pedal free play,
5 - pedal height.
e) Install the brake light switch, and rotate it until it makes light contact with the pedal travel stop.
and) Loosen the brake light switch one turn.
h) Check the distance between the brake light switch and the pedal travel limiter.
- Distance - 0.5-2.4 mm
And) Tighten the brake light switch locknut.
To) Connect the brake light switch connector.
l) Make sure the brake lights come on when the brake pedal is depressed and go out when the brake pedal is released.
m) After adjusting the pedal height, check the pedal free play.
Note: If the distance between the brake light switch and the brake pedal limiter has been adjusted correctly, the pedal free play will be within specifications.
3. Check pedal free play.
A) Stop the engine and press the pedal several times to eliminate the vacuum in the vacuum booster,
b) Press down on the pedal until you feel resistance.
- Pedal free play - 1-6mm
If the pedal free play is not as specified, check the distance between the brake light switch and the brake pedal travel limiter. If it corresponds to the specifications, then check the brake system for faults.
4. Checking the pedal reserve. Release the parking brake lever. With the engine running, depress the pedal and measure the pedal travel.
Brake pedal travel margin from floor covering at a pressing force of 500 N:
- Models without ABS: 3S-FE (4WD), 2C (4WD) — more than 80 mm
- Models with ABS - over 85 mm
If the brake pedal travel is not as specified, locate the brake system failure.
