1. Checking the functionality.
a) By pressing the brake pedal several times with the engine off, check that there is no change in the amount of reserve pedal travel.
b) Press the brake pedal and start the engine. If the pedal drops slightly, the operation is normal.
2. Check for leaks.
a) Start the engine and stop the engine after one or two minutes. Slowly depress the brake pedal several times. If the pedal goes down furthest the first time, then the booster is sealed.
b) Press the brake pedal with the engine running, then stop the engine without releasing the pedal. If there is no change in the pedal travel within thirty seconds while holding it down, then the booster is sealed.
