Adjusting the brake pad clearance [Toyota Dyna Y50]

1. Adjust the brake pad clearance.

a) Jack up the car and place it on supports.

b) Remove the plugs from the holes for adjusting the pads in the brake shield.

c) Using the adjusting lever, rotate the adjusting nut until the wheel locks.



g) (With automatic gap adjuster) Insert a screwdriver through the hole in the brake shield and hold the adjustment lever as far away from the automatic slack adjuster nut as possible.



d) Using the adjusting lever, turn the adjusting nut in the opposite direction until the wheel rotates freely.

The standard number of teeth by which the adjusting nut must be turned (Without automatic gap adjuster):
  • DYNA 150 — 5
  • DYNA 100 — 7

e) Repeat steps (c) and (d) for the remaining wheels.

and) (With automatic gap adjuster) Press the brake pedal several times.

c) Insert the plugs into the holes.

e) Check the correctness of the reserve stroke.
