Removal the steering column
1. Disconnect the negative terminal from the battery.
2. Remove the steering wheel.
a) Remove the two steering wheel cover screws from the steering wheel and disconnect the connector.
b) Loosen the steering wheel mounting nut and apply alignment marks to the steering wheel and main shaft assembly.
c) Using a puller, remove the steering wheel.
3. Remove the six steering column lower cover bolts, then remove the clamp bolt and remove the steering column lower cover.

4. Loosen the tension bolt.
a) Mark the cardan joint and worm shaft.
b) Unscrew the mounting bolts.
5. Disconnect the ignition switch and combination switch connector.
6. Remove the steering column cover and ignition switch.

7. Unscrew the three bolts securing the steering column clamp and remove the column.

Disassembling the steering column
1. Remove the main shaft.
a) Remove the retaining ring with pliers.
b) Turn the ignition key to the ACC position.
c) Pull out the main shaft.
d) Remove the retaining ring with pliers.
2. Remove the lower steering column cover from the mounting tube.

3. Unscrew the three bolts and remove the ignition switch bracket.
Checking the steering column
1. Check the operation of the steering wheel lock mechanism.

2. Check the smooth rotation of the upper bearing and the absence of extraneous noise when it rotates. If the bearing is worn or damaged, replace the ignition switch bracket.

Steering column assembly
1. Install the ignition switch bracket onto the mounting tube and tighten with three bolts.
- Tightening torque - 7.4 Nm
2. Install the main shaft into the mounting tube.
a) Install the locking ring and turn the ignition key to the ACC position.
b) Insert the main shaft into the tube and install the retaining ring.
Installing the steering column
1. Align the timing marks on the worm shaft and cardan joint, then connect them with the bolt.
2. Install the steering column mounting tube clamp and tighten with three bolts.
- Tightening torque - 12 Nm
3. Tighten the clamp bolt.
- Tightening torque - 35 Nm
4. Screw the casing with six bolts and secure the tube mounting clamp.
- Tightening torque - 37 Nm
5. Install the combination switch and steering column cover.
6. Connect the ignition switch and combination switch connector.
7. Install the steering wheel.
a) Align the marks on the main shaft and steering wheel and tighten the nut.
- Tightening torque - 34 Nm
b) Connect the connector, install the steering wheel cover and tighten it with two screws.
8. Connect the negative terminal to the battery.
9. After installation, check that the steering wheel is in the center position.
