Removal the steering gear



1. Unscrew the bipod mounting nut and remove the bipod from the shaft using a special tool.

2. Remove the steering column assembly.

3. Disconnect the pressure pipe and return hose.

4. Unscrew the steering gear mounting bolts and remove it.

Disassembling the steering mechanism



1. Clamp the steering gear in a vice as shown in the figure.





2. Remove the end cover.

a) Unscrew the lock nut of the adjusting screw and the four cover mounting bolts.



Steering gear.
1. - Washer,
2 -; 5 -; 31 - Lock nut,
3 - End cap,
4 -; 11 -; 15 -; 16 -;20 -; 26 -; 28 - O-ring seal,
6 - Adjusting screw,
7 - Steering arm shaft,
8 - Steering mechanism,
9 - Shaft bearing,
10 -; 17 -; 21 -; 25 -; 27 - Teflon ring,
12 - Spacer,
13 - Retaining ring,
14 - Seal,
18 - Piston rack,
19 - Valve body,
22 - Plate,
23 - Thrust bearing,
24 - Steering gear screw,
29 - Screw bearing,
30 - Adjusting nut.


b) Turn the adjusting screw until the cover is released.

3. Using a plastic hammer, tap the end of the bipod shaft and remove the shaft.

4. Remove the control valve assembly.

a) Unscrew the four screws securing the cover.



b) Hold the rack piston with your thumb and turn the steering gear screw clockwise. Then remove the control valve assembly.

Warning: Do not allow the rack piston to be removed from the steering gear screw.


c) Remove the O-ring.



5. Remove the piston rack.

a) Place the valve body in a special key and clamp it in a vice.

b) Disconnect the piston rack.

Warning: Do not lose the balls.


6. Loosen the lock nut.

a) Hold the adjusting screw with a wrench and loosen the lock nut.

b) Unscrew the adjusting screw with a special key and remove the bearing.

7. Remove the O-ring.



8. Remove the following parts: steering gear screw, thrust bearing, plate, Teflon ring, O-ring.






Installing the steering gear



1. Install the steering gear in place and tighten the bolts.
  • Tightening torque - 73 Nm

2. Connect and tighten the pressure pipe and return hose.
  • Tightening torque - 44 Nm

3. Install the steering column assembly.

4. Connect the steering arm to the steering gear.

a) Align the marks on the steering knuckle and the steering knuckle shaft.

b) Tighten the bipod with the nut.

Tightening torque:
  • DYNA 100 — 177 Nm
  • DYNA 150 — 172 Nm

5. Fill the tank with working fluid.

6. Pump the system and check the pressure.
