Removal and installation the muffler [Toyota Carina T170]

The crushing and installation is not difficult. The following points should be taken into account in particular:

• It is imperative to replace the gasket between the exhaust manifold and the muffler inlet pipe.
• Tighten the clamp bolts and nuts with a tightening torque of 25 Nm.
• Tighten the connection of the pipe to the manifold with a torque of 25 Nm.
• After installation, start the engine and check whether the muffler parts knock against other parts. Also check whether there is enough space between the muffler parts and the body parts. This is quickly determined if the muffler parts knock while driving.
