Removal and installation the exhaust manifold [Toyota Carina T170]

The intake and exhaust manifolds are mounted separately on all engines. Removal and installation are similar on all models. Before removing any part of the device, it is important to remember the location of individual parts. The following points should be taken into account:

• Before unscrewing, coat the nuts of the flange connection of the exhaust manifold to the muffler pipe with rust solvent to prevent the bolts from being torn off.
• When removing the manifold from the cylinder head, be sure to replace the gasket.
• Tighten the manifold flange nuts evenly, crosswise, to a torque of 25 Nm.
