a) Connect the inlet pipe with a hose to the pump.
b) Install a new O-ring into the block.
c) Install the pump together with the inlet pipe by tightening the 3 mounting bolts.
- Tightening torque - 15 Nm
d) Connect the inlet pipe by tightening the 2 mounting nuts.
- Tightening torque - 15 Nm
d) Connect the coolant temperature gauge sensor connector.

e) Install the oil dipstick with guide using a new O-ring.
g) (4A-FE) Connect the crankshaft position sensor connector.
2. Install the wiring harness protector.
3. Install the power steering pump.
- Tightening torque - 40 Nm
4. Install timing belt cover No.2.
- Tightening torque - 8 Nm
5. Install timing belt cover No.3.
a) Connect the CPS sensor wire.
b) Tighten the 4 mounting bolts.
- Tightening torque - 8 Nm
c) Connect the CPS sensor connector.
6. Install the coolant pump pulley.
a) Raise the engine.
b) Install the coolant pump pulley.
c) Install the right engine support and bracket by tightening the 3 bolts and 3 mounting nuts.
d) Tighten the bracket mounting nuts.
- Tightening torque - 53 Nm
d) Tighten the support mounting bolts.
- Tightening torque - 74 Nm
e) Install the left (front) engine support by tightening the 3 mounting bolts.
- Tightening torque - 74 Nm
g) Lower the engine.
7. Perform the following operations:
4A-FE, 5A-FE
a) Install the air conditioning compressor bracket.
b) Install the air conditioning compressor.
c) Install the cylinder head cover.
d) Connect the crankcase ventilation hoses.
d) Connect the high-voltage wires.
e) Connect the wiring harness and install the wiring harness guard.
g) Install the power steering pump drive belt.
c) Install the air conditioning compressor drive belt.
i) Install the washer reservoir.
k) Install the alternator drive belt.
l) Tighten the coolant pump pulley mounting bolts.
- Tightening torque - 10 Nm
m) Install the right side of the engine guard.
7A-FE
a) Install the timing belt.
8. Connect the negative terminal to the battery.
