Removal the coolant pump (A series) [Toyota Carina T190]

Disconnect the negative terminal from the battery.

2. Drain the coolant.

3. Perform the following operations:

(4A-FE, 5A-FE)

a) Remove the right side of the engine guard.

b) Loosen the coolant pump pulley bolt.

c) Remove the generator drive belt.

d) Remove the washer reservoir.

d) Remove the air conditioning compressor drive belt.

e) Remove the power steering pump drive belt.

g) Remove the wiring harness protector and disconnect the harness.

c) Disconnect the high-voltage wires.

i) Disconnect the crankcase ventilation hoses.

k) Remove the cylinder head cover.

l) Remove the air conditioning compressor.

m). Remove the compressor bracket.

a) Remove the timing belt.

4. Raise the engine.



5. (7A-FE) Disconnect the two radiator inlet hoses.



Remove the coolant pump pulley.



a) Unscrew 3 bolts and 3 nuts and remove the right engine support.



6) Unscrew 3 bolts and remove the left (front) engine mount.



c) Unscrew 4 bolts and remove the electric fan assembly.

d) Unscrew 4 bolts and remove the coolant pump pulley.



7. Remove timing belt covers No.2 and No.3 by unscrewing the 6 mounting bolts.





8. Remove the power steering pump assembly by unscrewing the pivot and adjusting bolts.



9. Remove the wiring harness protector.

a) (5A-FE) Remove the bolt and 2 nuts and remove the wiring harness protector.

b) (4A-FE) Loosen the nut, disconnect the mounting clamp and remove the wiring harness protector.



10. Remove the coolant pump.



a) (4A-FE) Disconnect the crankshaft position sensor connector.

b) Remove the oil dipstick from the guide.

c) Disconnect the coolant temperature gauge sensor connector.

d) Unscrew the 2 nuts and disconnect the coolant inlet pipe.

d) Unscrew the 3 mounting bolts and remove the coolant pump together with the coolant inlet pipe.



e) Disconnect the mounting clamps and remove the inlet pipe.
