Caution: When performing work on removing and installing fuel system components, disconnect the fuel pump connector in the luggage compartment as shown in the figure.




Removal



Precautions: Do not smoke or use open flames when working with the fuel pump.

1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

2. Remove the rear seat cushion,

3. Disconnect the wiring harness, unscrew the mounting screws and remove the service hatch cover.

4. Remove the fuel pump and fuel level gauge sensor assembly.

a) Disconnect the fuel pump and fuel level indicator sensor connector, fuel drain pipe and fuel return hose.

b) Disconnect the fuel return hose from the fuel pump bracket.

5. Disconnect the fuel pump mounting bracket from the fuel tank.

a) Unscrew 8 bolts.

b) Remove the fuel pump and fuel level indicator sensor assembly together with the gasket.

Installation



The fuel pump is installed in the reverse order of its removal. In this case, new gaskets should be installed in the appropriate places to replace the previously used ones.

2 - fuel outlet pipe,
3 - fuel return pipe,
4 - pump bracket,
5 - fuel pump,
6 - clamp,
7 - pump filter,
8 - rubber shock absorber,
9 - gasket,
10 - O-ring seal.
