Removing the radio
Attention: Radio receivers with special coding are available for sale. After installing and connecting such a radio receiver to the vehicle's on-board network, you must enter the code into it. Otherwise, the receiver will not work. The code serves as protection against theft of the radio. If the radio is coded, you must find out this code before disconnecting the radio from the on-board network or before removing it. If the code is unknown, only the manufacturer of the receiver can turn it on. The individual radio code number is given in its technical description. It must not be stored in a vehicle.
Disconnect ground cable (-) from the battery.
Attention: This will erase the entries in the memory of the on-board computer. In particular, a fault record and a radio code. Before disconnecting the battery, read the contents of the section «Removing and installing the battery».
Remove the center cover from front panel.
Remove the screws securing the radio and visor. Remove the radio without twisting it.
Disconnect plug connections of loudspeaker and antenna. Disconnect the power plug. If the radio has a non-serial plug connection, mark the wire before disconnecting.
Installation
Connect the electrical wires to the back of the radio.
Insert the radio into the dashboard and secure with screws.
Install and secure the center cover with screws.
Connect ground cable (-) with rechargeable battery.
Turn on the radio and check its operation. If the radio is coded, enter the code.
Set the time on the clock.
Instructions for additional installation of the radio receiver
Attention: If a non-standard connecting wire is used, ensure that the wire is insulated. A short circuit in the connecting wires may cause a fire.
Ensure that only standard interference suppression elements are used.
Attention: The following note only applies to radios without automatic search. If a radio receiver is installed optionally, it must be matched to the antenna. To do this, fully extend the antenna and fully turn on the volume. Set the receiver to a frequency of 1400 kHz, on which no stations are received, but only noise is heard. Adjust the antenna screw with a small screwdriver (front right in the receiver visor or on the body) so that the noise is maximum.
