The four controls are very easy to operate:
- The air flow regulator allows you to choose between the flow of fresh air from outside and the circulation of air inside the cabin.
- The air separation regulator serves to direct the air in the desired direction (legroom, instrument panel grilles or windshield).
- The temperature controller is used to turn the heating on and off and regulate the air temperature.
- The fan controller is used to turn the fan on and off and select one of four operating speeds.
Heating
- For normal heating, set the air flow regulator to the "FRESH" position or to the "RECIRC" position for fast heating. Do not forget that in the recirculation mode ("RECIRC") the windows fog up quickly.
- Set the air separation control to the "HEAT" position. In this position, the air flow is directed primarily to the footwell.
- Set the temperature regulator to the desired value. The "WARM" position corresponds to the maximum heating power.
- Turn on the fan controller.
Two-level heating (temperature differentiation)
In this position, the air supplied from the ventilation grilles in the instrument panel and the air supplied to the footwell have different temperatures.
- Set the air flow regulator to the "FRESH" position.
- Set the air separation control to the "B/L" position. This separates the air entering the instrument panel grilles and the air entering the footwell, with the air entering the footwell being warmer. The difference in temperature depends on the position of the temperature control.
- Set the temperature controller in the area indicated in the figure.
- Turn on the fan controller if desired.
Ventilation (blowing)
- Set the air flow regulator to the "FRESH" position.
- Set the air separation control to the "VENT" position. The air will be directed entirely to the ventilation grilles on the instrument panel.
- Set the temperature regulator to the desired position.
- Turn on the fan controller.
Defrosting or defogging of glass
- Set the air flow regulator to the "FRESH" position.
- Set the air separation control to the "DEF" position. This directs the air flow primarily to the windshield. On vehicles with side vents, the air is also directed to the front door windows.
- Set the temperature regulator to the middle or to the "WARM" position. The "WARM" position achieves the fastest effect.
- Set the fan control to high speed. Once the windshield fogging is eliminated, you can reduce the fan speed and heating temperature.
Practical instructions for use
- Make sure that the air intake grille in front of the windshield is not clogged with leaves or other objects.
- When driving on dusty streets, set the air flow regulator to the "RECIRC" position to reduce the flow of outside air.
