Air conditioner switch

This is the only visible switch that is added to the heating and ventilation system if: Your car has air conditioning. To use the air conditioner in economy mode, press the "ECON" button all the way down (the "ECON" indicator will light). To achieve greater cooling effect, press the "A/C" button all the way down (the "A/C" indicator will light). Pressing the unlit button halfway turns off the air conditioner.

Cooling

  • Turn on the air conditioner switch. The indicator light will show that the air conditioner is on.
  • Set the air flow control to the "FRESH" position for normal cooling or to the "RECIRC" position for faster cooling.
  • Set the air separation regulator to the "VENT" position.
  • Set the temperature regulator to the desired position. The "COOL" position provides maximum cooling effect.
  • Turn on the fan control. Medium or high speeds are most effective.

Heating with drying (dehydration)

  • Turn on the air conditioner switch.
  • Set the air flow regulator to the "FRESH" position.
  • Set the air separation control to the "HEAT" position.
  • Turn on the fan control. Medium or high settings are most effective.
  • Set the temperature regulator to the desired position.

Ventilation (without cooling), heating and defrosting or eliminating fogging of glass

  • Turn off the air conditioner switch.
  • Set all controls in the same way as described in the corresponding points of the previous section.

Practical instructions for use

  • During the first minutes after parking in the sun in hot weather, drive with the windows open. After the hot air has evaporated, close the windows to keep the hot air out.
  • The best cooling effect is achieved with the windows closed.
  • For normal cooling, set the air flow regulator to the "FRESH" position. For maximum cooling effect, set the regulator to the "RECIRC" position. Since this does not supply fresh air to the car, switch the regulator to the "FRESH" position from time to time to refresh the air inside the car.
  • In humid weather, do not set the air separation control to the "DEF" position during cooling. Due to the difference in temperature between the outside air and the windshield, moisture may condense on the glass and reduce visibility.
  • During a long trip in the mountains, the additional load of the air conditioner can cause the engine to overheat. Therefore, carefully monitor the coolant thermometer. If the temperature of the latter exceeds the permissible value, turn off the air conditioner.
  • See also "Practical instructions for use" from the previous section.
