The system provides remote locking and unlocking of doors. The system is included in the standard equipment of cars. Compared to previous models, the following changes have been made to the system:
- in this system, the remote control receiver recognizes the code and sends a lock/unlock signal to the body ECU, and the body ECU controls the lock actuators;
- the new model uses a two-button remote control to lock and unlock all doors.

Transmitter identification code recording function
Table 1.34 shows 4 modes of the identification code recording function, allowing up to 4 different codes to be registered. The codes are stored in the EEPROM memory.

Electronic control of the trunk door from the outside

Fig. 1.73. Location of the main components of the electronic tailgate control system from the outside
The system has a switch on the outside handle of the trunk lid to unlock the trunk lid using an electric drive.
The new car does not have a lock cylinder in the rear door, but instead has an emergency handle that can be used if the system is disabled due to a flat battery or malfunction.
The system is controlled by the body ECU.
The system operates when all of the following conditions are met:
Working conditions:
Fig. 1.74. Working conditions
The tailgate control is enabled under the following conditions:
- the rear door opening switch is in the "On" position. ("ON");
- the vehicle speed is less than 5 km/h.
The condition under which the trunk lid is permitted to open.
For the system to allow the tailgate to open, one of conditions a, b and c must be met after one of conditions A, B, C and D.
(The lock/unlock commands described below are equivalent to the commands of the lock actuator motor.)
a) Unlock command using the remote control, switch or driver's side door key.
b) Double locking system unlock command.
c) Unlock command from the control unit, the signal comes from the door lock, remote control or double locking system.
A) Lock command using the remote control, switch or driver's side door key.
B) Forced locking by command of the anti-theft system.
C) Double locking system locking command.
D) Unlock command from the control unit, the signal comes from the door lock, remote control or double locking system.
Shutdown conditions:
If any of the following conditions are met while the power rear lid operates, the power rear lid operation will stop.
(1) The motor rotation delay is more than 0.8 s.
(The electric motor is switched off until the tailgate opening switch is turned to the "Off" position. ("OFF").)
(2) The tailgate opening switch is in the "Off" position ("OFF").
Working conditions (or turning off) remains until the battery voltage becomes lower than the voltage on the RAM memory.
