Removal



1. Remove the windshield wipers, sun visors and brackets, interior rearview mirror.

2. Remove the windshield trim (if installed).

a) Using a screwdriver, remove the connecting pads.

Note: Work carefully to avoid damaging the body.




b) Using a screwdriver, remove the glass trim pieces starting from the edge.

3. Removing the windshield (when reusing the seal during installation).

a) Using a screwdriver, remove the seal from the body.

Note: Work carefully to avoid damaging the body.


b) Remove the seal flange outward from the inner part of the body flanging.



c) Pull the glass outward and remove it together with the seal.



8. Removing the windshield (when using a new seal during installation).

a) Use a knife to cut off the seal flange from the outside of the vehicle.

Caution: do not damage the glass or body.




b) Pass the wire string from the inside to the outside.

c) Tie the ends of the string to wooden handles or other suitable objects.

Caution: Do not damage the paint or interior trim of the vehicle while separating the seal from the glass.


Note: To avoid damaging the protective gasket when removing the windshield, place a plastic sheet between the wire and the gasket.




d) Cut off the adhesive by pulling the string under the seal around the glass.



d) Remove the glass.



Installation



1. Treat the surfaces of the body and glass that come into contact with the seal with a cleaning agent.

2. Installing the seal on the glass.

a) Install the seal on the glass. Note: If the seal has hardened, it will not be able to seal the glass tightly. In this case, a new seal should be used.

b) Insert the cord into the groove of the seal as shown in the figure.

3. Installing the windshield.

a) Apply primer or soapy water to the contact surfaces of the seal flange and the body flange.



Note: Glass installation should start from the bottom center.




b) Secure the glass in its place in the body.



c) From the inside, pull one end of the cord, placing it at an angle to the seal, so that the cord pulls the seal flange behind the body flange. At the same time, press the glass along the seal from the outside until the glass snaps into place.

4. To press the windshield back into place, lightly tap the glass with an open hand.

5. Place tape along the entire seal to protect the paint and glass.



6. Apply sealant under the seal flange as shown in the figure. Sealant: No.08833-00030 or equivalent



7. After the sealant has dried, remove the protective tape.



Note: The sealant dries in approximately 15 hours.


8. Remove any sealant that has leaked out from under the protective tape with a clean cloth soaked in solvent.

9. Check the glass for leaks. Repair leaks with sealant.

Sealant: #08833-00030 or equivalent

10. For glass with edging: use a screwdriver to install the edging.



11. Install windshield wipers, sun visors and brackets, interior rearview mirror.
