General information
The driver must be in the vehicle to operate the controls and apply the brakes.
Towing in this manner can only be done on hard-surfaced roads for a short distance and at low speed. In addition, the wheels, axles, steering and brakes must be in good condition.
Caution: Use extreme caution when towing your vehicle. Avoid sudden starts and abrupt maneuvers that may place excessive stress on the towing rope or chain. The hook or eye and the towing rope or chain may break and cause serious injury or damage.

Towing
1. Release the parking brake.
2. Set the gearshift lever to neutral position (manual transmission) or selector to position "N" (automatic transmission).
3. Set the transfer case control lever to the "H2" position. and the "H4" button should not be pressed (rear wheel drive only).
3. The ignition key must be in the "ACC" position (the engine is not working) or "ON" (the engine is running).

Note: If the engine is not running, the brake and power steering will not operate, so the effort required to operate the controls will be significantly greater than normal.
4. Use caution when towing a stuck vehicle. Stay away from the vehicle and the towing rope.
