2. Measure the thickness of the brake pad linings.
Nominal thickness:
- Twin tires - 6.5mm
- Single tires - 6.5 mm
- Small diameter - 6.5 mm
Minimum thickness:
- Twin tires - 1.5mm
- Single tires - 1.5 mm
- Small diameter - 1.5 mm
If the pad lining thickness is less than the minimum or shows signs of uneven wear, replace the brake pads. Note: If any pad needs to be replaced, all rear brake pads must be replaced to maintain uniform braking.
3. Measure the inner diameter of the brake drum.
Nominal internal diameter:
- Twin tires - 260mm
- Single tires - 290 mm
- Small diameter - 224 mm
Maximum internal diameter:
- Twin tires - 262mm
- Single tires - 292mm
- Small diameter - 226 mm
If the drum is scored or worn, the brake drum can be machined on a lathe.

4. If the contact between the brake shoe linings and the drum is not correct, repair the linings with a brake shoe repair lapping tool or replace the brake shoes.
5. (Twin tires) If necessary, remove the brake drum from the hub and install a new drum.
