2. Unscrew the bolt and remove the brake drum.
Note: If you have difficulty removing the brake drum, you must perform the following operations:
(With front disc brakes)
a) Insert a screwdriver into the hole in the brake shield and use the screwdriver to move the brake adjuster lever away from the adjuster.
b) Using another screwdriver, turn the adjuster to move the brake shoes away from the drum.
(With front drum brakes)
a) Insert a screwdriver into the hole in the brake shield and turn the adjuster until the wheels rotate freely.
3. (With front drum brakes) Remove the adjuster spring support mounting bolt before disassembling the brakes.
4. (With front drum brakes) Using the tool, remove the return spring and two retainers.
5. (With front disc brakes) Remove the governor cable, cable guide and governor lever.
a) Press the lever, remove the cable and its guide, then remove the retainer.
b) Remove the spring from the lever and take out the lever and spring.
6. Remove the two anchor springs.
With front disc brakes.
With front drum brakes.
7. Remove the pads, adjuster and pad spacer plate.
a) Using the tool, remove the return spring, caps and front shoe holder.
b) Remove the front shoe, the regulator with the spring.
c) Using the tool, remove the return spring, caps and rear shoe holder.
d) Disconnect the parking brake cable from the parking brake shoe lever.

8. If necessary, remove the regulator spring support.
With front drum brakes.
9. If necessary, remove the wheel brake cylinder.
a) Disconnect the brake pipe from the wheel cylinder.
Note: Place a container underneath to catch the drained brake fluid.
b) Unscrew the bleeder screw from the wheel cylinder.
c) Unscrew the two bolts and remove the wheel cylinder.
10. If necessary, disassemble the cylinder, removing the following parts: two rods, two dust boots, two pistons, two caps, spring.
