2. Turn out a bolt and remove a brake drum.
Note: in case of difficulty when removing the brake drum, perform the following operations:
(With front disc brakes)
A) Insert a screwdriver into the brake shield hole and pry the brake adjuster lever away from the adjuster with the screwdriver.
b) With another screwdriver, turn the adjuster to move the brake pads away from the drum.
(With front drum brakes)
A) Insert a screwdriver into the hole in the brake shield and turn the adjuster until the wheels turn freely.
3. (With front drum brakes) Loosen the adjuster spring support bolt before disassembling the brakes.
4. (With front drum brakes) Using a tool, remove the return spring and two retainers.
5. (With front disc brakes) Remove the governor cable, cable guide, and governor lever.
A) Press the lever, remove the cable and its guide, then remove the retainer.
b) Remove the spring from the lever and remove the lever and spring.
6. Remove two anchor springs.
With front disc brakes.
With front drum brakes.
7. Remove the shoes, adjuster and shoe spacer plate.
A) Using a tool, remove the recoil spring, caps and front shoe holder.
b) Remove the front shoe, adjuster with spring.
V) Using a tool, remove the recoil spring, caps and rear shoe retainer.
G) Disconnect the parking brake cable from the parking brake shoe lever.
Rear drum brake (DYNA 100).

21 - Regulator cable guide,
22 - Holder,
23 - Brake drum,
24 - Regulator spring,
25 - Regulator spring support,
26 - Support mounting bolt.
8. If necessary, remove the regulator spring seat.
With front drum brakes.
9. If necessary, remove the wheel brake cylinder.
A) Disconnect the brake pipe from the wheel cylinder.
Note: Substitute a container for the drained brake fluid.
b) Unscrew the bleeder plug from the wheel cylinder.
V) Unscrew the two bolts and remove the wheel cylinder.
10. If necessary, disassemble the cylinder by removing the following parts: two rods, two anthers, two pistons, two caps, a spring.
