Removing
1. Disconnect the cardan shaft.
2. Remove the drum.
A) Bend back the caulked part of the nut with a hammer and chisel.
b) Loosen the nut and remove the washer.
V) Loosen the parking brake lever.
G) Remove the drum.
Note: If it is difficult to remove the brake drum, turn the adjusting device in the direction of unlocking until the drum is released.
3. Remove the two return springs,
A) Remove the two return springs from the top side of the brake shield, then separate the washer.
b) Remove the return spring on the right side.
b) Remove the return springs from the underside.
4. Remove the right brake pad.
A) Remove the retaining spring, two caps and holder.
b) Remove the block.
5. Remove the shoe spacer plate and spring.
6. Remove the left brake shoe and shoe spreader lever.
A) Remove the retaining spring, two caps and holder.
b) Using pliers, disconnect the parking brake cable from the lever and remove the spring.
7. Remove the adjuster.
6. If necessary, disconnect the shoe spreading lever from the shoe.
Component Check
1. Measure the inner diameter of the brake drum.
- Maximum inner diameter: 178.0 mm
- Nominal inner diameter: 177.0 mm
If the drum is scored or worn, you can machine the brake drum on a lathe.
2. Measure the thickness of the brake pads.
- Max Thickness: 1.5mm
- Nominal Thickness: 3.6mm
If the pad lining thickness is less than the minimum, or shows signs of uneven wear, replace the brake pads.
3. Check up contact between blocks and a brake drum.
4. Replace bolts if necessary.
A) Turn out bolts.
b) Insert new bolts into the brake drum.
V) Finally install the bolts as shown in the figure.

Assembly
Note: The assembled parts should look like the picture shown.
1. Apply high temperature grease to the brake shield as shown.
2. Install the brake pad spreader lever onto the brake pads.
3. Install the adjustment device.
4. Install the left brake shoe with shoe spreading lever.
A) Using pliers, connect the parking brake cable to the brake lever.
b) Establish a block with the lever on a brake board.
V) Install retaining spring, caps and retainer.
5. Install the right brake shoe.
A) Install the block on the shield.
b) Install retaining spring, caps and retainer.
6. Install the shoe spacer plate and spring.
7. Install return springs.
A) Install the return spring from the underside of the brake shield.
b) Install the return spring on the right side.
V) Install the washer and return spring from the top side.
8. Install the brake drum.
A) Tighten the adjusting device until the blocks are completely unlocked.
b) Install the brake drum.
V) Install the washer and tighten the nut.
- Tightening torque: 127 Nm
G) Turn the adjusting device until the shoes are completely apart, then turn the adjusting device one tooth in the opposite direction.
e) With the shoes fully extended, make sure the drum is locked.
h) Release the parking brake lever and make sure the parking brake does not stick. Otherwise, turn the adjusting device one more tooth.
7. Coin the nut.
8. Connect the cardan shaft.
9. Check and adjust the parking brake.
