A) Install a new circlip in one of the piston bosses.
b) Gradually heat the piston to a temperature of approximately 60°C.
V) Align the front side marks on the piston and connecting rod, then install the piston pin and second circlip into the piston.
2. Install piston rings.
A) Install the expander and oil scraper ring.
Note: The location of the oil scraper lock is on the opposite side of the circle from the expander lock.
b) Using a piston ring expander, install the two compression rings with the code marking facing up.
V) Install the piston rings so that the ring locks are located as shown in the figure.
Warning: Do not match ring locks.
3. Install bearing shells.
A) Align the protrusion of the bearing shell with the groove of the connecting rod or connecting rod cap.
b) Install the bearing shells into the connecting rod and connecting rod cap.
Warning: Install a bearing shell with an oil hole in the connecting rod.
