Note: Rebore all four cylinders to fit the oversized piston outside diameter.
Replace piston rings with ones that match the oversized pistons.
Oversized piston diameter (0.50):
- 2L Engines - 92.44-92.47 mm
- Engine 3L - 96.44-96.47 mm
1. Calculate the cylinder bore size.
a) Using a micrometer, measure the piston diameter at right angles to the pin axis at a distance of 58 mm for 2L engines and 56 mm for 3L engines from the piston bottom.

b) Calculate the size to which each cylinder must be bored using the following formula:
Boring size = P+C-H,
where P is the piston diameter,
C - clearance between piston and cylinder 0.05 - 0.07 mm.
H - honing allowance 0.02 mm or less.
2. Bore and hone the cylinders to the calculated dimensions.
- Maximum honing level: 0.02 mm.
Warning: Over-honing will result in poor cylindricity.
