Adjusting the increased idle speed when the brake booster is engaged [Toyota Dyna Y50]

1. Warm up the engine to normal operating temperature and turn it off.

2. Connect the tachometer.

3. Start the engine again.

4. Adjust the idle speed set when the brake booster is turned on. Sequence of the checking and adjustment procedure (carburetor variant with throttle opening mechanism):

a) Disconnect the vacuum hoses from the power steering system and plug them.

b) Increase the engine speed to 2500 rpm for a few seconds, release the throttle valve, check the speed set by turning on the amplifier in the control system.

For models with manual transmission:
  • 3Y (for Europe) — 1200 rpm
  • the rest - 900 rpm

For models with automatic transmission - 900 rpm

c) If necessary, adjust the speed with the adjusting screw and repeat the check (b).



d) Connect the vacuum hoses to the power steering system booster.

Sequence of the check and adjustment procedure (version of the carburetor with a manipulator (positioner) throttle valve):

a) Disconnect the vacuum hoses from the filter and the pneumatic booster of the control system.

b) Using another hose, connect the filter to the air booster.



c) Increase the engine speed to 2500 rpm for a few seconds, release the throttle valve, check the speed set by turning on the amplifier in the control system.

For models:
  • with manual transmission - 800 rpm
  • with automatic transmission - 900 rpm

d) If necessary, adjust the rotation speed with the adjusting screw and repeat the checking procedure (c).



d) Connect the vacuum hose to the filter and the pneumatic booster of the control system.
