Remove the spark plug of the first cylinder, close the spark plug hole with your finger and rotate the crankshaft clockwise until you feel pressure under your finger, which corresponds to the piston approaching TDC in the first cylinder. Install the spark plug in place.
If there is no increase in pressure under the finger, then turn the shaft 180° and repeat the procedure.
b) Set the slot of the oil pump drive shaft to the position shown in the figure.

2. Install the distributor.
a) Align the groove in the distributor housing with the timing mark on the driven gear (not to be confused with connecting pin).

b) Insert the distributor drive shaft into the cylinder block hole.
c) Loosely tighten the distributor housing mounting bolt(s).
3. Install the distributor cap together with the gasket.
4. Connect the high voltage wires according to the engine firing order (1-3-4-2).
5. Connect the distributor electrical connector.
6. Connect the vacuum hoses (contact ignition system or contactless system with vacuum ignition timing regulator).
7. Adjust the ignition timing.
