2. Remove the drive disk.
3. Removal of the old oil seal can be done without first dismantling the holder by prying it with a screwdriver (refer to accompanying illustration), However, to avoid the risk of damage to the crankshaft trunnion, the compilers of this manual recommend that you proceed in accordance with the instructions below.
4. Turn out bolts of fastening of the holder to the block and remove assembly, clean mating surfaces from fragments of material of laying and old sealant.
Note. Plug the open part of the tray with a rag to prevent small debris from getting inside.
5. Laying the removed holder on the workbench on two wooden blocks, knock out the old oil seal with a punch from the back of the plate (refer to accompanying illustration).
6. Wipe the gland seat with acetone. Lay the holder on a flat, hard surface and tap a new oil seal into the socket, using a wooden block or a piece of pipe of a suitable diameter as a mandrel. Toyota recommends using a cylindrical mandrel to install the oil seal (SST 092233-15030-70010) right size (refer to accompanying illustration).
7. Lubricate the seal lips with clean engine oil.
8. Gently pressing the holder, put it in its regular place. Proceed slowly, making sure that the jaws of the stuffing box do not wrap when putting it on the shaft trunnion (refer to accompanying illustration). Screw in fixing bolts and evenly tighten them to the required torque.
9. Further installation is carried out in the reverse order to the dismantling of the components.
