Removal the evaporator [Toyota Carina T190]

1. Discharge the air conditioning system (see subsection "Installing the pressure gauge block and discharging the system").

2. Remove the side decorative cover and air filter.



3. Remove the following items:

Note: When removing, refer to the assembly drawing "Air conditioning evaporator".


a) Finishing the front door threshold.

b) Side front trim of the interior.

c) Glove box holder.

d) Glove box.

d) Finishing of the heater fan control unit.

f) Air duct No.3.

g) Connecting air duct.

4. Remove side cover No.1 of the cooling unit.



5. Unscrew the two screws securing the refrigerant supply and discharge pipes.



6. Remove the evaporator from the cooling unit housing in the direction shown in the figure.





7. Loosen the two mounting screws and remove the expansion valve from the evaporator.
