"AUTO" mode (for fan speed and air flow)
To automatically control the air conditioning, turn the fan speed and air flow control knobs to the "AUTO" position (toyota Land Cruiser models), or press the automatic mode switch (lexus LX 470 models).
In the automatic control mode, the air conditioning function selects the most suitable fan speed and air flow according to the temperature.
Manual controls can be used if you wish to select your own settings.
Fan speed controller
On Toyota Land Cruiser models, turn the fan speed control knob - right to increase, left to decrease.
On Lexus LX 470 models, the fan speed is changed by pressing the corresponding end of the switch.
On Toyota Land Cruiser models with control panel type 2 and on Lexus LX 470 models in automatic control mode, do not adjust the fan speed until a different fan speed setting is required.
Temperature controller
Turn the knob to adjust the temperature - to the right to increase the temperature, to the left to decrease it.
Air flow distribution regulator
On Lexus LX 470 models, the air distribution mode is selected by repeatedly pressing the corresponding switch.
On Toyota Land Cruiser models, turn the knob to select the vents used for air flow.
On Toyota Land Cruiser models with control panel type 2 and on Lexus LX 470 models in automatic control mode, do not select an air flow until a different air flow mode is required.
1. Panel - Air is supplied mainly from the instrument panel ventilation deflectors.
2. Two levels - Air is supplied from the floor level ventilation nozzles and from the instrument panel ventilation deflectors.
3. Floor level - Air is supplied mainly from ventilation nozzles at floor level.
4. Floor level/windshield - Air is supplied mainly from the ventilation vents at floor level and to the windshield.
5. To the windshield - Air is supplied mainly from the vents to the windshield.
Circulation mode switch
Press the button to select the circulation mode, the corresponding information will be displayed on the display screen:
1. Closed circulation – air circulates inside the car.
2. Fresh air – outside air is supplied to the system.
3. Automatic mode - the system itself switches circulation modes depending on the purity of the outside air.
"A/C" button
1. To turn on the air conditioner, press the "A/C" button. The "A/C" button indicator will light up. To turn off the air conditioner, press the button again.
2. If the "A/C" button indicator flashes, it means there is a problem with the air conditioning system, and the air conditioner will automatically turn on. If this happens, take the car to a Toyota or Lexus service station for maintenance.
Rear heating system
The rear heater controls are shown in the accompanying illustrations.

To turn on the rear heater, press the switch; to turn off the heater, press the switch again.
On Toyota Land Cruiser models, pressing the fan speed selection button once will set the fan speed to "LO" mode, and pressing the button twice in a row will set the fan speed to "HI" mode.
