Removing
1. Relieve residual fuel pressure.
2. Remove the battery.
3. Remove the air filter.
(Models with manual transmission) Remove the clutch release cable.
5. Drain the coolant.
6. Remove the radiator.
7. Remove the front wheels.
Removal and installation of the power unit.
1 - accelerator cable,
2 - engine assembly,
3 - steering shaft seal,
4 - steering shaft,
5 - drive belt for mounted units,
6 - air conditioning compressor,
7 - expansion tank of the power steering,
8 - engine wiring harness,
9 - front subframe,
10 - torque converter,
11 - automatic transmission,
12 - manual transmission,
13 - torque converter drive plate,
14 - starter,
15 - bracket for the rear engine mount,
16 - bracket for the front engine mount.
8. Disconnect all hoses.
9. Hang the car.
10. Drain the manual transmission oil or automatic transmission fluid.
11. Disconnect the automatic transmission fluid cooler hoses.
12. Remove the anti-roll bar.
13. Disconnect the tie rod ends from the steering knuckle.
14. Disconnect the lower front suspension arms from the subframe.
15. Disconnect the front drive shafts.
16. (4WD Models) Remove the cardan shaft.
17. (Models with manual transmission) Remove the shift lever.
18. (Models with automatic transmission) Disconnect the transmission control cable.
19. Remove a forward reception pipe of system of release.
20. (4WD Models) Remove the transfer box.
21. Disconnect all grounds and connectors.
22. Disconnect lead "IN" generator.
23. Disconnect the heater hoses.
24. Disconnect the fuel hose.
25. Remove the accelerator cable.
26. Mark the steering shaft and remove the universal joint.
27. Remove the A/C compressor drive belt, remove the A/C compressor.
Note:
- Do not disconnect the pipes from the compressor.
- Hang the compressor on a rope.
28. Remove the power steering expansion tank.
Note: do not disconnect the pipes from the expansion tank.
29. Remove the front subframe.
A) Disconnect the connectors from the electronic control unit, push the wiring harness inside the engine compartment and remove it.
b) Disconnect the connectors and clamps, remove the wiring harness from the vehicle.
V) Disconnect the grounds from the engine and transmission.
G) Fix the special tool on the rolling jack.
d) Raise the jack until it contacts the front subframe.
Attention: to avoid damage to the holes, wrap the pin of the special tool with electrical tape.
Note: To install the pins of the special tool, use the holes for the anti-roll bar mounting bolts.
e) Turn out four bolts of fastening of a subframe.
and) Lower subframe with engine, transmission, transfer case (4WD models) from the car.
Note: Lower the jack slowly to avoid damage to hoses and connectors that have not been removed in time.
h) Hang the engine with transmission and transfer case assembly using a pulley and chain.
And) Remove the power steering pump.
Note:
- Do not disconnect tubing from the pump.
- Hang the pump on a rope.
To) Turn away bolts and nuts, remove a forward subframe with the steering mechanism.
30. Remove automatic transmission.
A) Remove the six bolts securing the torque converter to the torque converter drive plate.
b) Remove automatic transmission with torque converter.
31. Using the special tool, remove the torque converter drive plate.
Disassembly, inspection, cleaning and repair of the cylinder block "Engine - General Repair Procedures".
Installation
1. Using the tool, install the torque converter drive plate.
2. (Models with manual transmission) Clean the bolt holes in the cylinder block.
3. Install the torque converter to the transmission and make sure it is securely seated.
A) measure distance "A" from the plane of the gearbox connector to the torque converter, as shown in the figure.
- Rated distance "A" - 16.5 mm
b) Apply grease to the torque converter axle.
4. Install automatic transmission.
A) Clean the bolt holes on the cylinder block.
b) Make sure that the torque converter has not come off the seat and install the transmission on the engine.
Note: If the torque converter is warped, remove the transmission and reinstall.
V) Make sure the torque converter rotates freely and tighten the mounting bolts.
5. Wrap bolts of fastening of the hydrotransformer to a plate of a hydrotransformer drive.
6. (2WD Models) Install the rear engine mount bracket.
A) Temporarily tighten the bolt (A) securing the rear engine mount bracket to the cylinder block.
b) tighten bolt (WITH) fixing the bracket of the rear engine mount, fixing it relative to the plane (F).
V) Tighten the bolts (IN) And (E).
G) tighten bolt (A).
d) tighten bolt (D).
7. (4WD Models) Install the rear engine mount bracket.
A) Install the transfer box on the gearbox and tighten the bolts of its fastening.
b) Temporarily tighten the bolt (A) securing the rear engine mount bracket to the cylinder block.
V) tighten bolt (WITH) fixing the bracket of the rear engine mount, fixing it relative to the plane (F).
G) Tighten the bolts (IN) And (E).
d) tighten bolt (A).
e) tighten bolt (D).
8. Install the front subframe.
A) Install the front subframe with steering, engine and transmission assembly.
b) Install the power steering pump and bracket to the engine.
V) Fix the special tool on the rolling jack.
G) Install the subframe on the special tool.
d) Install the subframe with the engine on the car.
e) Tighten the subframe mounting bolts.
and) Connect all wires, connectors and clamps.
h) Connect the connectors to the electronic control unit.
And) Connect ground to engine and transmission.
9. Install the A/C compressor and A/C compressor belt.
10. Align the marks and install the universal steering joint.
11. Install the accelerator cable. Make sure pedal free play is correct.
- Free play - 3-5 mm
- Tightening torque - 8.4±1.4 Nm
12. Install the fuel hose.
13. Install heater hoses.
14. Connect a wire to an output of the generator.
15. Connect grounds, connectors and clamps.
16. Connect the engine wiring harness.
17. Establish a forward reception pipe of system of release.
18. Connect the automatic transmission control cable.
19. (Models with manual transmission) Install the shift lever.
20. (4WD Models) Install the cardan shaft.
21. Install drive shafts.
22. Install the lower front suspension arms.
23. Connect the tie rod ends.
24. Install the anti-roll bar.
25. Install the automatic transmission fluid cooler hoses.
26. Fill with manual transmission oil or automatic transmission fluid.
27. Install the front wheels.
28. Install the radiator.
29. Fill in coolant.
30. Install the clutch release cable.
31. Remove the engine lifting eyes.
32. Install the air filter.
33. Install the battery.
