Checking the voltage regulator
1. Remove the voltage regulator cover.
2. Check for signs of burning and damage on the contact surfaces. Replace regulator if faulty.
3. Check up resistance between regulator outputs.
A) Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals of the connector "IG" And "F" (voltage regulator terminals), the value of which is:
- in the released position - 0 Ohm
- in the closed position - about 11 ohms
b) Measure resistance between leads "L" And "E" (voltage relay terminals), the value of which is:
- in the released position - 0 Ohm
- in the closed position - about 100 ohms
V) Measure resistance between leads "IN" And "E" (voltage relay terminals), the value of which is:
- off (released) position - infinity;
- in included (closed) position - about 100 ohms.
G) Measure resistance between leads "IN" And "L" (voltage relay terminals), the value of which is:
- off (released) position - infinity;
- in included (closed) position - 0 ohm.
d) Measure resistance between leads "N" And "E", the value of which is about 24 ohms.
If any of the conditions of paragraph 3 is not met, then replace the relay.
4. Voltage regulator adjustment
A) To adjust the voltage regulator, bend the adjustment lever.
- Voltage value - 13.8-14.8 V
b) To adjust the voltage relay, bend the adjustment lever of the voltage relay.
- The relay operation voltage must lie within - 4.0 - 5.8 V
5. Install the regulator cover.
