Removal





1 - control valve,
2 - piston,
3 - piston rod,
4 - roller,
5 - cam,
6 - camshaft,
7 - spring,
8 - cylinder head cover.


1. Remove the plug from the timing belt protective cover No.2.

2. Install the camshaft pulley with the mark facing down.



3. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the vacuum pump.

4. Remove the vacuum pump.

a) Unscrew the four mounting nuts.



b) Remove the pump and gasket.



Examination



1. Connect the pressure gauge to the vacuum pump.



2. Turn on the engine.

3. Take pressure gauge readings with the engine idling.
  • Vacuum - 600 mm Hg at nominal atmospheric pressure at sea level

Installation



1. Make sure the camshaft lobe is at bottom dead center.

2. Install the vacuum pump with a new gasket.
  • Tightening torque - 20 Nm

3. Connect the vacuum hose to the vacuum pump.

4. Install the plug on the timing belt protective cover No.2.
