When the key is turned to the "ON" position, the glow plug indicator comes on. It goes out when the glow plugs are hot enough to start the engine. The waiting time depends on the engine temperature.
This key position is normal for driving. To avoid battery discharge, the key should not be left in the "ON" position when the engine is not running.
"START" — the starter is turned on.
Before starting the engine, set the gearshift lever to neutral and depress the clutch pedal. Immediately after starting the engine, release the key. It will return to the "ON" position. Do not operate the starter continuously for more than 30 seconds.

"LOCK" — the steering wheel is locked. The key can only be removed in this position.
To turn the key to the "LOCK" position from the "ON" or "ACC" positions, press the lock button. If the key gets stuck in the "LOCK" position when starting the engine, first make sure the key is fully inserted, and then gently turn the key until the steering wheel moves back and forth.
While the vehicle is moving, under no circumstances should you press the steering wheel lock button, turn the key to the "LOCK" position, or remove the key, as this will lock the steering wheel and make it impossible to control the vehicle. If you need to stop the engine while driving, turn the key only to the "ACC" position. Under no circumstances should you press the lock button or remove the key.
