1. Take a short car ride (about 15 minutes long) a trip to warm up the oil in the transfer case, if possible, turn on the all-wheel drive mode, try to drive the car at all possible speeds, including reversing.
2. Jack up the car and put it on stands.
3. Place a suitable capacity drain container under the transfer case.
4. Remove the drain plug from the bottom of the transfer case housing (see illustration) and drain the oil into the prepared container.
5. After the oil has stopped flowing, wipe the plug, screw it back in place and tighten it firmly.
6. Remove the filler plug from the box crankcase.
7. Add the required amount of fresh oil of the required grade to the box - the oil should begin to flow out over the edge of the filler hole.
8. Screw the plug back into place and tighten firmly. Lower the car to the ground.
9. Take the car for a short trip, after which check the level of lubrication in the transfer case again.
