FJ80 Side Mirror Switch Test Diagram and Connector Pinout

In most models, the mirror drive is carried out by 2 electric motors for vertical and horizontal displacement.
Examination
1. Turn on the ignition (do not start the engine) and lower the side windows. Using the selector built into the switch, turn on the desired mirror and check the operation of the drive of the right and left mirrors, moving them to the right and left, up and down.
2. Listen to the operation of the electric motors.
3. If you can hear the electric motors working, but the mirror does not move, then the drive mechanism inside the mirror is faulty. Remove the mirror and disassemble it.

4. If you cannot hear the electric motors running and the mirrors do not move, check the fuse.
5. If the fuse is good, remove the switch without disconnecting the wires. Turn on the ignition and check the voltage at the switch. If there is no voltage, check the wires from the fuse to the switch. Otherwise, check the switch, for which do the following.
6. Disconnect the connector and check the switch circuit using the attached diagram. If the contacts do not close as specified, replace the switch.
7. Connect the switch. Find the wire from the switch to ground. Without disconnecting the switch, short this wire to ground with a jumper. If the mirror works normally with the jumper, then repair the "standard" connection to ground.
8. If the mirror does not work, disassemble the mirror and check for voltage on the wires. Turn on the ignition and move the switch to all positions, checking for voltage. There should be voltage on one of the wires from the switch in each of its positions (except in the Off position).
9. If there is no voltage, check the circuit from the mirror to the switch.
10. If there is voltage, remove the mirror and check its operation by connecting via jumpers. If the mirror does not work, replace it.
