Examination
1. The check is carried out on a cold engine. Label and disconnect the hoses and remove the air filter cover.
2. The damper is located at the top of the carburetor (arrow). Squeeze out the throttle pedal to failure - the damper should close completely. Start the engine - when starting, the damper should open slightly.
3. As the engine warms up, the throttle should open slightly.
4. After a few minutes, the damper should open completely. Depress the throttle pedal sharply and check that the fast idle cam disengages from the lever.
5. With the throttle fully closed, the engine should run at high idle. As the choke valve opens, the throttle valve moves and disengages the cam from the lever, idle speed decreases.
