Precautionary measures [Toyota Land Cruiser J70]

When working with sealant, the following rules must be observed.

a) Using a blade and scraper, remove all old sealant from the sealing surface under the gaskets.

b) Thoroughly clean all parts from any remaining material.

c) Wash both surfaces of the O-ring with a non-residual solvent.

d) Apply new sealant, leaving approximately 1 mm from the edge of the surface to be sealed.

d) The parts must be assembled within 10 minutes of applying the sealant. Otherwise, the sealant must be removed and then reapplied.
