Air System Precautions
1. Removing the oil dipstick, oil filler cap, hoses, etc. from a running engine. may cause engine misalignment.
2. Disconnection, loosening of fasteners or cracking of elements of the air supply system (between throttle body and cylinder head) will cause air leakage, which in turn will lead to a malfunction of the engine.
Electronic Control Precautions
1. Before disconnecting the electrical connectors of the electronic control unit, it is necessary to turn off the electrical power using the ignition key or by removing the wires from the battery terminals.
Attention: be sure to read the diagnostic code before removing the wires from the battery terminals.
2. When installing the battery, do not reverse the polarity.
3. Do not hit the elements of the fuel injection system and especially the electronic control unit.
4. Be careful when troubleshooting, with a large number of transistor circuits, even slight careless touching of the terminals can cause serious damage.
5. Do not open the housing cover of the electronic control unit.
6. When operating in rainy weather, keep the electronic controls away from water. The same should be done when washing the engine.
7. Replacement of spare parts should be carried out only with similar ones.
8. Be careful when disconnecting and connecting electrical wiring connectors.
A) When disconnecting, press down on the latch and pull out the connector by holding it by the housing.
b) When connecting, fully insert the connector and make sure it is locked (fixed).
9. When checking the connector with a tester.
A) When testing resistance, current, or voltage, always insert the tester probe from the wire side. If the connector is waterproof and it is not possible to insert the probe from behind, insert it from the side of the connector. When doing this, be very careful not to damage the connector pins.
b) Do not apply excessive force.
V) Never connect an ohmmeter between the ECU and sensor connectors when the connector is connected to the ECU, as this may damage the ECU or sensor.
10. Conductivity test (looking for a break) perform the following operations.
A) Disconnect the ECU and sensor connectors.
b) Measure the resistance between the respective terminals of the connectors.
- Rated impedance - 10 ohms and below
11. Resistance test (when looking for a short circuit) perform the following operations.
A) Disconnect the ECU and sensor connectors.
b) Measure the resistance between the respective connector pins and ground.
- Rated resistance - 1 MΩ and above
12. When checking injectors and their connectors, use special tools (special diagnostic cables).
