a) Rotate and simultaneously press on the synchronizer ring to check its friction properties.

b) Measure the gap between the synchronizer ring and the gear.

Nominal clearance - 1.0 - 2.0 mm
Minimum clearance - 0.8 mm
c) If the gap does not meet the specifications, replace the synchronizer ring.
2. Replacing the primary shaft bearing (if necessary).
a) Remove the retaining ring.
b) Using a press, remove the bearing.
c) Using a press and mandrel, install the new bearing.
d) Select a retaining ring with minimum axial clearance and install it on the shaft.

d) Install the retaining ring.
