Attention: when performing work on the removal and installation of fuel system components, the residual fuel pressure in the line should be relieved as follows:
- turn the ignition key to position "OFF";
- remove the fuel pump relay;
- start the engine and work out the fuel remaining in the line;
- after the engine stalls, turn off the ignition;
- install the fuel pump relay.
1. Before starting work on the fuel system, disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.
Attention: any diagnostic code in the memory device of the electronic control unit is erased when the wire is removed from the negative terminal of the battery. Therefore, before disconnecting the battery, it is necessary to read the diagnostic codes.
2. Do not smoke or use open flames when working on the fuel system.
3. Avoid contact of gasoline with rubber or leather items.
4. Working with fuel line quick connectors.
Note:
- Fuel supply side and fuel return side use different quick connectors, be careful.
- Before work, remove the abrasive from the quick coupling.
- Do not use special tools when working with quick couplings.
- Inspect the piping and connector. If there is contamination, clean the connector and piping.
- Place a plastic bag over the fuel line and connector to keep dirt out.
Fuel supply side (body side, fuel pump):
A) Disconnect the fuel line by pressing the holder on both sides.
b) Install the fuel line into the connector with the holder until it clicks.
If necessary, apply a little engine oil to the fuel line to facilitate installation.
Note: before work, make sure that there is no dirt on the parts to be connected.
V) Pull on the fuel line and connector to make sure the fuel line is secure.
Fuel return side (fuel pump):
A) Press the tab on both sides and rotate the connector 90°.
b) Disconnect the fuel line connector by pressing the tab.
V) Install the retainer as shown in the figure.
G) Install the fuel line into the connector with the holder until it double clicks (first click weak, second strong).
If necessary, apply a little engine oil to the fuel line to facilitate installation.
Note: before work, make sure that there is no dirt on the parts to be connected.
d) Squeeze the latch, hook the teeth of the latch onto the connector.
e) Pull on the fuel line and connector to make sure the fuel line is secure.
Main fuel hose:
A) Remove the holder and disconnect the fuel line and connector.
b) Install the fuel line into the connector with the holder until it clicks.
V) Install the holder.
Connector colors:
- from the side of the fuel pump - yellow
- body side - red
5. After servicing the fuel system, check that there is no fuel leakage.
Note: After working on the fuel system for a week, check the engine for leaks and fuel smell.
