Attention: any diagnostic code in the memory device of the electronic control unit is erased when removed (-) negative terminal from the battery. Therefore, it is necessary to read the diagnostic codes before disconnecting the battery.
2. Do not smoke or use open flames when working on the fuel system.
3. Do not allow the output of gasoline with rubber or leather items.
4. When the high pressure fuel line is disconnected, a large amount of fuel is drunk. Therefore, the following must be done.
A) Remove the luggage compartment trim.
b) Disconnect the fuel pump connector.
V) Start the engine. After it spontaneously stops, turn off the ignition.
G) Place a container under the assembly to be dismantled.
d) Loosen the connection slowly.
e) Disconnect the connection.
and) Seal the connection with a rubber stopper.
h) Reconnect the fuel pump connector.
And) Reinstall the luggage compartment trim.
5. When tightening a nipple connection or bypass bolt connection in the high pressure fuel line, do the following:
(Bypass bolt connection)
A) Always use a new gasket.
b) Tighten the bolt by hand.
V) Tighten to required torque.
(Nipple connection)
A) Apply a light coat of engine oil to the nut and tighten the nut by hand.
b) Torque wrench required! tightening torque.
6. Precautions when removing and installing injectors.
A) Never reuse the O-ring.
b) When installing the O-ring on the injector, be careful not to damage it in any way.
V) Lubricate the O-ring with spindle oil or fuel prior to installation. Never use engine or transmission oil or brake fluid.
7. Connect the injector to the fuel manifold and intake manifold as shown.
After servicing the fuel system, check for fuel leakage.
a) Use a service wire to short the leads "+V" And "FP" diagnostic socket.
b) Turn on the ignition (do not start the engine!).
V) If the fuel return hose is pinched, the pressure in the high pressure fuel line will rise to approximately 392 kPa. Check for fuel leakage along the entire line.
Attention: the hose must be pinched. Never bend the fuel line to avoid its destruction.
G) Switch off the ignition.
d) Disconnect the service wire from the diagnostic connector.
